The circumstances that the rhythm and current situation impose, have made us reflect on several aspects that we consider essential for the creation of spaces, where the users can feel and enjoy its benefits.
Our priority has been to devise sheltered places, adapted to human beings; cosy and continuous areas, in which space and emotions flow in an environment of freedom, spontaneity and creativity that follow the natural rhythm of the man movements, areas where the integrated furniture promotes the circulation.
“The main idea: to achieve adapted spaces to the human body; similar to maternal cloister, animal’s refuge, the troglodytes that are sculpted under the ground, the igloo… not a turn back but a meditated reconciliation”.
Two atmospheres were zoned separated by a winding tunnel that leads to both: the private and the workshop.
The workshop area is very spacious it has two large tables to work either individually or collaboratively: one is arranged for the design by computer and the other for scale models. So that the co-workers can interact.
This big space is connected to a pleasant terrace, a multipurpose space in which the collaborators can eat, rest or work. With a view to the urban zone and a park.
The private atmosphere is made up of two cubicles that looks alike as caves, and a circular space that is used as a meeting room, for private work team meetings or client’s presentations.
The project is made out of wood in its structure and finishing; this wood certifies the planification and the legal felling of trees. With this in mind it also guaranteed a lower environment impact, compared to the energy and resources used in prefabricated materials.
The original space was a rectangular prism delimited by square walls and windows, to define the new spaces, pine wood skeletons were design in cross section, covered with thin strings of wood in the opposite section; veneer of maple root for finishing in walls, ceilings and floor. The table surface was covered with leather, a material that allow to work in a comfortable and soft place.
Live together in the workshop is like working in a warm and illuminated cave, with stimulating sensations that change from one space to another, an interplay of lights that change throughout the day.
