The Mainanker project combines modern architecture with industrial charm: Located in Hattersheim, this new development consists of two multi-family buildings that not only create much-needed living space but also contribute to the revitalization of a former industrial area, specifically the site of an old paper factory.
Nestled on the banks of the River Main, the project enjoys a unique location. Its proximity to Frankfurt enhances its desirability, allowing residents to enjoy the tranquility of riverside living while staying connected to the vibrant city life.
The Mainanker project consists of two construction plots, each with a newly built residential building. In total, the project includes 66 apartments designed to appeal to a diverse group of residents. The architectural design is inspired by the industrial character of the surroundings, integrating industrial building elements while also embracing contemporary aesthetics.
A standout feature of the architecture is the use of horizontal façade bands and brick facades. The design is defined by these horizontal elements, which give the overall structure a unique dimension.
The balconies of the residential units are another highlight of the project. The generously cantilevered balcony slabs provide residents with ample outdoor space to enjoy the picturesque views of the Main River and the surrounding landscape. These balconies are complemented by delicate steel railing systems, which add an elegant touch while referencing the surrounding industrial buildings.
The choice of materials further enhances the architectural integrity of the Mainanker project. The use of brick facades not only reflects the industrial heritage of the area but also contributes to the longevity and sustainability of the buildings.
The project is divided into two construction plots, with the first plot comprising 29 apartments on a plot size of approximately 2,600 square meters. The second plot features 37 apartments on a plot size of around 2,250 square meters.
The two new buildings blend seamlessly into the overall ensemble of the surroundings, embodying a high level of aesthetic value and authenticity. The Mainanker project not only addresses the need for housing but also enriches the architectural landscape of Hattersheim. It stands as a model for future developments and demonstrates how thoughtful design can transform urban spaces while respecting their historical context.
