The Flying Nest is a nomadic concept hotel designed by Ora ïto for the hotel group Accor. Its rooms are built from shipping containers, so the hotel can be set up wherever it is needed.

A hotel that travels

Because each room is a recycled transport module, the whole hotel can be shipped around the world and installed for different events and locations, then moved on again.

Rooms with a view and a terrace

Each container is fitted out as a cosy room with a large window and a private terrace. A wooden slat shutter covers the window, shading the interior on warm days and giving privacy at night.

Minimal interiors

The rooms are kept minimal. The bed fills the space beside the window, so guests get the widest possible view from it. A shared restaurant room is open to guests for breakfast.

Why containers suit temporary hotels

In general terms, shipping containers are built to be moved, stacked and handled with standard equipment, which makes them a practical base for accommodation that has to appear for an event and disappear afterwards.
