Mulberry House received Honorable Mention recognition at the International Architecture & Design Awards 2026 in Architecture. Project status, design team and credits are listed alongside the presentation.
About the project
To extend, modernise and renovate the existing family dwellinghouse to cater for a growing family. Extensions to ground and first floor levels, with new double garage and glazed link extension.
The inspiration for the design was born from the shape of the existing gable ended roofs and a desire to add a third pitched roof of complementary scale, to play with the ‘bulk and mass’ of the dwelling. The material palette of striking Corten steel, cream render and board-marked concrete provide an interplay of textures, with a warming aesthetic that suggests an industrial look, adapted for a residential setting.
