Accenture Federal Services’ The Forge® is a tech-forward experience center in Washington, DC, designed as a purpose-built environment for learning, dialogue and decision-making. In a federal market where stakeholders want to engage technology hands-on and where performance expectations continue to evolve, the space was designed to translate emerging capability into tangible, confidence building moments, all within demanding security and compliance requirements.

The design sets a clear progression from entry to full immersion. The experience begins at The Reception, where customizable lighting and tailored welcome messaging set the tone for a high-tech, high-touch day of guided experiences. From there, The Hub operates as a room-scale presentation volume: an ultra-wide, floor-to-ceiling digital wall that shifts the center from static briefing to spatial storytelling and collaborative work.

In the The Sandbox and Expo, visitors choose demonstrations and interact with the latest technology in a flexible, workshop-ready setting. The Control Room intensifies the experience with 270 degrees of wraparound video display and an interactive object-recognition touch table, anchoring a data-led, scenario-based “critical mission” environment where participants step into the role of decision maker. The environment includes spaces for hosted sessions and video broadcasts plus rotating interactive elements and regular updates so the center can evolve over time instead of staying tied to a single narrative.

A custom content management backbone ties the journey together, giving presenters tablet-based control of content, lighting and room aesthetics per journey so the environment can be tuned to audience, agenda and mission. The impact is immediate and measurable: within the first 45 days of reopening, The Forge engaged 300+ clients and generated 60+ opportunities, underscoring how spatial design can accelerate trust, clarity and momentum.
