In architecture, avant-garde is considered a bright, unconventional, and non-standard style. Its main feature is contrast. It is expressed in the combination of smooth and rounded shapes with straight and geometric forms, the use of seemingly incompatible textures and materials, and the use of unexpected and provocative color solutions. Inspired by this style, we created an accent, multifaceted, and modern urban garden!

One of its main advantages is its multi-level structure, which is created using metal retaining walls of varying heights. Rising towards the roadway and descending towards the Heritage restaurant’s veranda, they create a natural hedge against the noisy roads surrounding the restaurant. The retaining walls also serve the purpose of providing additional height above the existing surface level for the planting of large trees and shrubs!
Landscaping plays a key role in the Avant-garde project. The flowing, winding shrubbery contrasts with the strictly geometric layout of the retaining walls, reflecting the style’s characteristics. Bright Physocarpus, Cornus, Spiraea, pines and junipers surround the accent Ginnala maple and the Lamark’s serviceberry, and the European trellis linden, cubic shape, are some screens protecting from the carriageway and at the same time attracting our attention!

Passers-by and restaurant visitors will have the opportunity to interact with this territory, they will be able to relax on comfortable benches, take a few photos against the background of decorative metal panels and cubic linden trees and enjoy the bright colors of the modern urban garden “Avant-garde”
