Calya Provenza is the international debut of our studio, a boutique hospitality project rooted in Medellín’s Provenza district — one of the city’s most vibrant cultural corridors. Designed as a sanctuary of stillness within the energy of the urban fabric, Calya expresses a philosophy of intentional living through architecture and interiors grounded in rhythm, care, and connection.

The project takes conceptual inspiration from Cattleya trianae, Colombia’s national orchid. This idea shaped the building’s vertical organization: each floor aligned with a part of the flower — roots, stem, leaves, petals — creating a botanical narrative expressed through form, flow, and light. The six-suite building is designed as a retreat, with each unit offering full kitchens, laundry, and workspace to support extended stays. Open common areas encourage both privacy and connection, culminating in a lobby designed as a space to breathe — a center of calm, texture, and light.

Inside, Calya reflects Colombian materiality and cultural identity through locally sourced stone, wood, and handwoven textiles. Tactile finishes, layered lighting, and a muted palette shape an environment that feels both grounded and elevated. Artisan collaborations bring intentionality to every surface, creating a sensory experience that invites presence and ease.
