Garden Group Headquarters

About the project

The client, Garden Group, is a company primarily engaged in the operation of comprehensive leisure and amusement facilities, including pachinko halls. The design of this new headquarters building and the development of its workplace aimed to visualize the unique worldview of Garden Group.
The exterior design features a passageway at the ground level that encourages the natural flow of people from the surrounding urban district. Above it, an office volume inspired by glass ingots appears to float, symbolizing the company’s continuous evolution towards the future.
For the interior workplace design, two key themes were established. The first theme is "coexistence with greenery," reflecting the company's name, "Garden." A full-height green wall is placed at the front of the entrance hall, creating a space where visitors can immediately sense the corporate identity. The new headquarters building is set back from the road on three sides, forming a welcoming garden space for the community. To enhance this concept, green walls have been strategically placed along the building’s exterior and landscaping to serve as focal points for different approaches. These architectural elements are seamlessly connected with the interior design, visually extending the greenery and leading visitors toward lush terrace spaces on the upper floors.
The second theme is "coexistence with art." The office spaces are adorned with artworks by world-renowned artists such as Lee Ufan and Jim Dine, offering a distinctive experience for both visitors and employees. By integrating art—elements seemingly unrelated to daily office tasks—within the workspace, the design fosters a refined sensibility and enriches inspiration. This, in turn, serves as a catalyst for generating new value in everyday work.
