Nestled in Taipei, near the vibrant Xinyi District and bordered by the Keelung River with the Four Beasts Mountain as its backdrop, the “Gilded Manor” draws inspiration from nature. The surrounding neighborhood is renowned for its vibrant apparel district.

The overall design is inspired by nature. Serene mountain silhouettes and ever-shifting clouds are transformed into a celestial ceiling above the grand lobby, opening up a boundless vista. The flooring patterns bloom like flowers along shimmering waters, while the fluid reception desk echoes the gentle currents of a flowing river. Art partition screens borrow from the shadows of trees and the delicate lines of leaves, as if sketching flecks of golden sunlight in motion.

The welcoming lobby takes cues from the spatial order of the traditional courtyard, unfolding into a sequence of three interlinked halls. Each threshold reveals a new landscape — cloud, mountain, water — bringing architecture and nature into harmonious resonance.

The design team weaves local cultural narratives into the imagery of woven fabrics, infusing patterns inspired by bamboo groves and the breezes that ripple through the café, culinary classroom, and reading lounge.

The metallic-toned bar, shaped like a ceremonial chalice honoring heaven and earth, pays tribute to tradition while reinventing it for the present. Golden hues flow lightly through the interiors like an unfolding scroll, reflecting a dialogue between culture and nature, and creating a lifestyle of grace and understated sophistication.
