Harmonic Qi Spheres is a multisensory therapeutic system that integrates Traditional Chinese Medicine’s Five-Tone Therapy with contemporary biometric feedback technologies. The system centers on a pair of handheld therapeutic spheres made of Dehua porcelain, inspired by the traditional Chinese practice of walnut rolling. Through repetitive touch and rhythmic hand movements, a familiar bodily ritual is reinterpreted as an entry point for emotional regulation and self-awareness.
Embedded within the spheres are heart rate variability (HRV) sensors, as well as temperature and pressure sensors, which continuously collect physiological data during use. These biometric signals are treated not as diagnostic indicators, but as dynamic expressions of the user’s emotional and bodily state.
