This forest is generous for gifts — redden strawberries, beads of cranberries, and blueberries. There’s a little chill here even on the hottest days; boulders tumble over meadows, lawns overflow with emerald color, and pine trees and fire are dipped into the sea.
We had never encountered a nine-meter height difference at a forested plot before, until this project!
At the same time, the house on the hill was stunning, and we already knew how to play along with the landscape, but the main challenge was to create passages between different areas.
The clients have moved out of town permanently. Their kids are grown, and they live a level life. Occasionally, they host friends. Hence the landscaping desires: a fruit orchard, hearth, pond, waterfall, and convenient slopes.
We found severely injured forest cover and weakened trees. We had to part with some of them, plant new ones, and help them take root. For the regenerated areas, we chose plants that are compatible with the forest in terms of light and acidity of the soil.
In our entire business, this was the largest area of woodland restoration! The result became better than expectations: now the forest is mesmerizing, producing shade and great air.
We love the Scandinavian Garden. It invites us to explore ourselves and be spontaneous, to follow vibes: to examine, to touch, to scent. Therefore, its logistics shall liberate traffic.
For the house on the hill, we arranged major and minor pathways. The main one is a broad stone slope that resembles an ancient Celtic path and leads to the garage.
Along the milder slope, step bars barely peeking out of the grass emphasize the direction. This stepped trail is more decorative. The least trafficked pathway from the bathhouse with a plunge pool to the hearth surrounded by the pond is made of wooden platforms. Some paths were heated year-round to make them user-friendly.
L.BURO
L.BURO was recognized as the best landscape company in Russia 2025 according to the ALAROS association. Our signature style is Scandinavian gardens. It combines the resilience of the Normans and the romanticism of St. Petersburg residents, where restraint coexists with impressions and emotions. If you value northern style, nature carefully integrated into architecture, well-thought-out routes and low maintenance — then a Scandinavian garden is for you. Having become an answer to self-sufficient modern architecture, the Scandinavian garden at the same time pays tribute to the times, choosing a person and their state as its center. A Scandinavian garden is harmony and tranquility. Reliability and safety. Burst of emotions and inspiration. We sincerely believe that such a garden is not only beautiful but also a real investment in a person’s state of being.
