LAPA or CAPSULAPA is inspired by a muscle typical of the Azores islands. It is an animal that has a shell and that hugs itself to the rocks at the seaside, remaining camouflaged and completely attached, being almost an integral part of the rock. The upper part of the chair provides shade, shelter and comfort, providing a moment more dedicated to introspection and closed like a sea limpet glued to the rock.
The LAPA or CPASULAPA is a large armchair, with sitting/lying and relaxation functions. It can be used and consists of two pieces, using the name of Capsulapa, because it is a capsule for the user. The top and bottom, inspired by the sea limpet shell. This piece can also just be used with the lower part. It can be a swivel armchair when fixed to a metal bearing system at its base. The challenge was to make the best design, the best transition shapes and matching all pieces, such as the fiber, the fabric and the metal and still having a sense of lightness.
LAPA can be places indoor, outdoor, as a social area chair, pool area, or in a room for a relax space or readimg moment.
