This single-story residence, spanning approximately 60 square meters, is a delicate exploration of spatial openness and serene comfort within a compact footprint. Subtle spatial reconfiguration allows the layout to breathe, transforming what was once a confined interior into a calm and well-balanced retreat. The cabinetry throughout adopts a seamless, handle-free design, presenting a clean visual language that enhances spatial clarity. Overhead, the ceiling subtly defines the living and kitchen zones, concealing the air conditioning and dehumidification systems while gently softening the impact of a structural beam. The interplay between warm wood veneer and fine black detailing establishes a quiet rhythm, bringing depth and refinement to the atmosphere.
Above the central island, a suspended shelving feature integrates both storage and lighting, enriching the rhythm of daily routines. Considering Taiwan’s frequent seismic activity, a slender iron guardrail is thoughtfully added around the shelving platform, providing subtle reinforcement while maintaining its elegant form.
The TV wall, adorned with textured specialty paint, extends fluidly through the dining area and central corridor, unifying the visual narrative of the shared space. Behind the sofa, a low wall paired with a glass partition delineates a compact home office area, while the gentle curves at the corner soften transitions, lending the open-plan living space an inviting sense of continuity and ease.
At the corridor’s end lies the master suite, reimagined from two opposing rooms into a singular, cohesive domain. This new configuration introduces a generous walk-in closet that mediates between dressing and sleeping zones, allowing the couple to maintain distinct daily rhythms in quiet harmony. Within the bedroom, a once-heavy structural beam has been reshaped with a graceful curve, its softened contour diffuses light in a tender gradient, turning a former constraint into a poetic architectural feature.
The dressing area continues this language of understated harmony. One side accommodates a vanity and open hanging zone, while the other conceals a generous storage section behind sliding doors. Near the entrance, drawers and cabinets provide dedicated places for handbags, hats, and outerwear, crafting a well-ordered environment where everyday function meets quiet elegance. Through its gentle color palette and sensitive detailing, the design embodies a warm modernity that invites calm, balance, and a deeply personal sense of belonging.
