“NUEVO Karpathos” is an all-day café bar restaurant in Karpathos Island, Greece. The main concept was based on the following parameters:
• Transformation of traditional Greek and Mediterranean Architectural elements, into a modern language:
The arch –geometrically, and the mosaic–as a material, hold a significant role in the final design.
• Creation of an Island vibe, in combination with tropical touches.
• Harmonic connection of a real mural painting with hanging vegetation.
• Ergonomic design of a very small space.
• Emphasis on the artificial lighting.
• Creation of Instagrammable spots.
• Instilling a refreshing vibrant experience for the guests.
Karpathos is a touristic island with lots of history, so the concept was to mix harmonically traditional Architecture elements (geometric arch) and materials (mosaic tile), with a vibrant feeling, in a modern touch.
