Set against the dynamic backdrop of the Imagica Theme Park and just off the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, the Radisson Hotel emerges as a contemporary retreat imbued with urban sensibilities and regional character. The design balances strategic spatial planning with the fluidity of hospitality-centric functionality, while delicately echoing the cultural and natural context of its surroundings.
Originally operating under the Ramada Hotels banner, the property underwent a significant brand transformation following its acquisition by Radisson Hotels. This transition demanded not just a technical overhaul but also a sensitive reimagining of its design narrative in line with Radisson’s global brand ethos. While the foundational architecture was preserved, extensive reconfigurations were introduced to embed the Radisson aesthetic — marked by a modern language of form, materiality, and guest experience — into the very fabric of the hotel.
The interiors embody a contemporary design language punctuated with subtle, site-responsive gestures. Regional identity is gracefully interlaced through a curated selection of materials and bespoke art installations. Black-and-white compositions portraying the serene, nature-kissed landscape of Khandala — its enveloping mist and cascading waterfalls — create emotive focal points throughout the interiors, anchoring the hotel in its geographical narrative.
The hotel’s adjacency to Imagica played a pivotal role in shaping the spatial flow and programming of the project, enhancing its draw as a leisure destination between Mumbai and Lonavala. Responding to the challenge of limited floor-to-floor heights, our studio introduced strategic design solutions such as dramatic cut-outs in the lobby to create vertical visual relief and spatial generosity. Furthermore, thoughtful orientation of rooms and circulation pathways mitigated radiation concerns from a nearby high-tension line — an intervention that speaks to both architectural intelligence and environmental sensitivity.
Amenities are designed to cater to a diverse audience – guest rooms frame picturesque views of the theme park and rolling hills, amplifying the immersive resort experience. A spectrum of lifestyle offerings — including a bar and lounge, an all-day dining venue, a terrace café, a wellness-oriented pool and spa — enrich the guest journey. For corporate and celebratory gatherings, the property houses expansive banquet halls, a verdant lawn, fully equipped meeting rooms, and state-of-the-art business centres.
The chosen material palette reflects an “urban resort” philosophy — refined, resilient, and quietly luxurious. Emphasis is placed on longevity and low-maintenance finishes without compromising on elegance. The subdued tonalities and textural interplay across surfaces lend the interiors a grounded sophistication, perfectly aligned with Radisson’s design language.
