The Sky Blue Garden is located on the sixth floor of the Moscow City main business center in the skyscraper of the same name. The main landscaping of this project is focused on the view terrace framing the building. Business people who need a comfortable green environment and a real place of power that can provide resources at any time of the day work and live here.
The inspiration for the design of the garden was the aerodynamic architecture of the tower — the shape of the facade with soft curves creates the effect of liquid metal. There are no sharp boundaries in landscaping — only smooth transitions in paving and lighting, in the outlines of paths and recreation areas, in canopies from rain and sun. Gradient tones from purple to deep blue emphasize the fluidity of the space, and sculptural elements made of polished stainless steel, resembling voluminous donates, add a sense of lightness and weightlessness at altitude. In addition to aesthetics, these forms also add functionality: planters and mobile structures can be moved, adapting the space to different events and seasons.

The complexity of the project is in extreme climatic conditions for plants: sunburn from glass facades, drying winds, lack of snow cover, temperature fluctuations and dryness. It is no coincidence that there are few trees on the territory of Moscow City. Landscaping has been selected taking into account the harsh microclimate: low-growing grasses, hardy shrubs and conifers predominate, located in areas with optimal insolation and protection from reflected light.

The garden has different rhythms: yoga classes are held here in the morning, conferences and business meetings are held in restaurants in the afternoon, and walks by the pond in the evening. There is an all-season greenhouse nearby, where you can hide from the cold or wind, while staying in touch with the wild.

This garden is a social environment that has been moved to a height where there was no place to live before. It was created for those who work and live in the “City” to give them the opportunity to stop, breathe in and feel that even in the very heart of an urban landscape, nature can bloom.
