Arch(e)type

The Muse Residences is a premium residential ensemble proposed for Moscow’s Aeroport district. It is shaped as a contemporary, sculptural response to the area’s cultural memory, particularly the “artists’ town” around Verkhnyaya Maslovka street, where studios and everyday life have long shared the same address.

The concept translates artistic inspiration into architecture: a hand-drawn sense of motion expressed through soft curves, fluid massing and continuous horizontal bands that wrap the volumes.

Aeroport’s identity is also tied to Moscow’s aviation history, including Khodynka Field and the former Khodynka Aerodrome nearby, a place associated with early flights and later aircraft testing. Rather than turning this “sky” context into a literal high-rise statement, the project keeps a measured scale that aligns with the calm, mid-rise fabric of 1950s–1960s housing blocks and intimate courtyards. Instead, a stepped silhouette and carefully tuned shifts in volume form an elongated urban frontage where the façades’ plasticity becomes the primary identity.

Layered balconies and terraces of varying depths create a perimeter of “eddies,” adding shadow and a lived-in rhythm while expanding outdoor life. The façade balances large-format glazing with denser ribbon-like spandrel bands. It reinforces continuity and the effect of light sliding across the surface.

At street level, a robust, rusticated base with generous shopfront glazing and clear entrances extends the public realm, while the residential floors above remain calm and private. The material palette combines fibre-reinforced concrete panels with metal cladding to bridge tactile solidity and reflective lightness.

Arch(e)type

Arch(e)type is an interdisciplinary architecture practice founded in 2015 by architect Daria Belyakova.

The practice’s mission is to create aesthetically precise, meaning-driven environments through a full 360 approach, where one concept is carried consistently across every scale, from the masterplan to the door handle.

Arch(e)type operates at the intersection of multiple disciplines, with dedicated teams in architecture, interior design, product and graphic design, as well as branding and marketing. The studio employs over 80 people.

Arch(e)type’s values are conceptual clarity, freshness, and professionalism. Each project begins with research into place, cultural context, and real-life user scenarios.

The studio’s portfolio includes residential and mixed-use developments, cultural centers, and hospitality projects across Russia, Indonesia, and Thailand.
