This project, a public facility within a residential complex, is located in the rapidly developing region of New Taipei City. Situated next to an MRT station, it is intimately connected to the city’s growth. The building’s exterior features flowing lines to mirror the city’s ongoing development, fostering a dynamic and ever-evolving urban image. The designer has ensured a consistent aesthetic between the public facilities and the architecture, enabling a dialogue with the city.
The design of public spaces incorporates fluidity, emphasizing areas like the lobby, community walls, and particularly the 23rd and 24th floors, including the rooftop public space. The spatial design mirrors the city’s evolving history and changing urban texture, while fostering interaction with nature. Through the integration of natural elements, including a waterfall and roof garden, a harmonious living environment is established. These natural additions enhance the space’s aesthetic appeal and offer residents chances to engage with nature. They also help to lessen urban stress, thereby improving residents’ quality of life.
In the detailed design, the waterfalls at the entrance drive microclimate circulation, enhancing comfort visually and functionally. The first-floor lobby features metal plates combined with stone paint. Through 3D curved construction, it presents a layered, three-dimensional flow. The custom-made glazed chandelier further complements the vibrant vibe.
The standard flooring continues to incorporate the wave element of water flow. On the 23rd floor, there is a dedicated gym and yoga space with the best view for residents. The ceiling is intentionally hollowed out and replaced with a shallow pool. This design not only reduces heat radiation and saves energy, but also adds a unique touch to the space with changing light and shadow. The shallow pool on the 24th floor allows a downward view into the gym, breaking the spatial barrier. Paired with an outdoor bar table lit by blue LED lights, the rooftop garden becomes a more entertaining space.
This project successfully combines innovative design concepts and meticulous execution. It balances fluidity, spatial perception, practicality, and environmental sustainability. The designer emphasizes environmental preservation by choosing low-carbon, energy-saving building materials, and LED lights. This sustainable approach is not only eco-friendly but also reflects the designer’s dedication to sustainable development.
