The client approached me with a clear vision for their parter studio, Wayfarer Films: they desired the film studio intro to portray the producer alongside his daughter, showcasing their outdoor adventures that signify their shared passion for automobiles. I explored various themes depicting the two characters together in different vehicles—a car, a van, a vespa, a bicycle, a motorbike—which eventually evolved into the final portrayal of the father and daughter walking in the mountains, encapsulating this concept within the studio’s logo.
As the client informed me that studio intro would feature the producer and his daughter going on adventures, and after being provided with a logo, I began my process in reverse. My aim was to ensure a seamless transition by working backward from the logo.
To kick off, I brainstormed a range of vehicles suitable for this concept and explored potential backgrounds that could complement each scene. I meticulously paired each vehicle with its appropriate environment. For instance, the motorbike with a desert road, the bicycle with a beach setting, and the car with a forest backdrop.
Various materials were utilized throughout this project’s creation process. I began by sketching out initial ideas using pencil and paper. Then, I transitioned to Photoshop to refine these sketches. Next, I developed a preliminary color scheme for the concepts and themes. Upon securing approval from my client for these foundational elements, I initiated the cleanup phase using Adobe Animate, leveraging vectors over pixels to achieve a polished appearance. Then, I focused on animating the characters and vehicles, which then led to the composition and editing stages using After Effects.
