WHAT:
The Minecraft Touring Experience is a large-scale interactive and immersive adventure that brings participants of all ages into the vibrant world of Minecraft. Armed with a connected cube, participants explore diverse biomes alongside teammates to rescue villagers from a massive zombification outbreak. Together, they will brave swamps, forests, and snowy landscapes in search of rare ingredients, face formidable creatures, and unite to conquer the Nether in an epic fire-and-ice quest.
WHO:
Commissioned by Microsoft, our studio was entrusted to create, produce, distribute, and promote this interactive experience. Developed closely with Microsoft and Mojang, the adventure authentically reflects the game, with visuals crafted directly within Minecraft to preserve its iconic style.
WHERE AND WHEN:
The experience premiered in Dallas in October 2024 and will tour globally, with units traveling across North America, Europe, and Asia. Upcoming stops include London and Toronto in 2025.
CREATIVE OBJECTIVES:
Deliver an authentic in-person extension of the game, beyond a simple replica.
Create a magical, multi-sensory journey blurring virtual and physical play.
Engage audiences with the game’s most beloved elements in innovative ways.
Promote collaboration and community-building through shared experiences.
Offer a dynamic narrative adventure with replay value and take-home elements.
PRODUCTION SPECIFICATIONS:
Self-contained, modular touring system with ground-supported hardware.
Minimum space requirement: 20,000 sq ft with 17 ft ceilings. Larger venues can expand content.
Two weeks for installation and training; one week for dismantling.
Tours with a Minecraft retail shop and optional themed food & beverage in collaboration with local partners.
Fully self-contained production and management team, with locally hired and trained guest service staff.
OPERATING PARAMETERS:
Engagements of 16 to 26 weeks, depending on city size and venue availability.
Operates 6 to 12 hours daily, with flexible schedules for weekends and holidays.
Timed entry accommodates 250-300 guests per hour for a one-hour experience.
Anticipated weekly attendance: 8,500 to 12,500+ guests.
Each city collaborates with the Tour Producer for a tailored local marketing campaign.
