Born in Madrid in 1984, Pablo Vidiella remains rooted in his birthplace, where his fascination with the arts led him to pursue a degree in Architecture, which he completed in 2013. Seeking to broaden his horizons, Pablo relocated to London to join a prestigious architectural firm. There, he delved into a variety of architectural domains and scales, enhancing his expertise in technical and digital fabrication. Upon returning to Madrid, Pablo embraced the challenge of pushing the boundaries of creation, a pursuit that continues to this day. At the helm of HenkaLab, an award-winning studio, Pablo dedicates himself to the art of shape experimentation. Drawing inspiration from natural evolution, he manipulates pure geometries under specific tensions to breathe life into new, organic forms designed for practical use. Pablo Vidiella’s approach to design marries instinct with innovation, appealing to our inherent draw towards the soft, fluid forms found in nature. His work not only aims to capture the eye but also to engage the senses, inviting interaction through its attractive contours and the warmth of its materials. The process of bringing these designs to fruition is a harmonious blend of cutting-edge technology and time-honored craftsmanship. Quality solid wood is sculpted with precision by a 5-axis CNC milling router, directed by intricate 3D models. Artisanal woodworkers then meticulously join and finish these pieces, finalizing the transformation from raw material to a functional objet d’art. Pablo finds the challenge lies in creating a piece that is at once organic, aesthetically striking, and magnetic—compelling the onlooker to not just view but to experience the piece. The intricate task of modeling and CNC crafting such complex geometries stands as a testament to the convergence of artistic vision and technical prowess that defines his work.
