The site is located in Jumunjin, a town on the eastern tip of Korea, bordered by the East Sea and a white sandy beach.
Despite the stunning ocean, the town feels stagnant, gloomy, and dark.
Here, we plan a building resembling a bright lighthouse, hoping to brighten and revitalize the neighborhood.
The building owner wanted to first construct a small building in front of the sea.
Therefore, We envisioned a small, yet vibrant and dynamic medium that changes with the times, bridging the border between land and sea.
In the morning, visitors can admire the sunrise, in the afternoon, the white sandy beach, and at sunset, the rooftop transforms into a party venue with changing lighting.
Cars enter the parking lot through the front or rear passage, while people enter on the first floor and then ascend to the second floor and rooftop via a skylight-filled staircase. Upon reaching the rooftop, visitors truly encounter the expansive East Sea.
