Mystic woodland sanctum for children as contemporary emulation

Dannien Roller Architekten + Partner have created the Sofie Haug Children’s Day-Care Centre in Tübingen as an enchantingly mystic hybrid-timber building with a Yakisugi timber façade, perfectly adapted to the surrounding woodland. The clear design language of the functional architecture combines with traditional materials and intense colour contrasts to create a venue filled with atmosphere that meets children’s desire for narrative architecture.
