Eurogarden Leisure District: Leisure as Strategic Urban Infrastructure.
Eurogarden Leisure District is conceived as a new collective dimension of the city—a public landscape where culture, sport, ecology, and innovation come together to shape a new model of strategic urban infrastructure. This is not a residential neighborhood, nor a built-up area, but rather the open counterpart to the dense city—a multifunctional, accessible, and nature-based system where leisure becomes a powerful driver of urban regeneration.
This district operates as a dynamic and evolving urban environment, structured around a network of public functions embedded in the landscape. With no housing or traditional buildings, the project emphasizes the relationship between collective space and nature, transforming open space into opportunity and ecological systems into active infrastructure.
Eurogarden Leisure District is organized around a constellation of cultural venues, sports facilities, event platforms, and pedestrian and cycling routes, all immersed within a system of parks, water elements, and regenerated natural areas. The mix of programs supports a layered, adaptive urban fabric that encourages interaction, social inclusion, and the continuous activation of public space—throughout the day and across the seasons.
From an environmental perspective, the project adopts a regenerative design approach. Green and blue infrastructures form the ecological backbone of the district, improving microclimates, enhancing biodiversity, and increasing urban resilience. Architecture is conceived as diffuse and low-impact—guided by bioclimatic principles, natural materials, and passive design strategies that integrate seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.
Public space is at the core of the project: a network of plazas, ecological corridors, multifunctional platforms, and open fields creates a rich sequence of accessible, safe, and welcoming environments. This system of collective functions is designed to foster well-being, social exchange, and a strong sense of community, while reinforcing local identity through cultural and recreational programming.
The Eurogarden Leisure District is not a destination but an active and adaptive urban infrastructure, where nature, leisure, and innovation are integrated as key drivers of sustainable, inclusive, and shared urban development. It represents a new kind of public landscape—capable of completing and enhancing the city of the future.
