The methodology

Every award.
Every point.

Company points = 5 × Platinum + 4 × Gold + 3 × Silver + 2 × Bronze + 1 × Honourable Mention.

  1. Platinum Winner5 points
  2. Gold Winner4 points
  3. Silver Winner3 points
  4. Bronze Winner2 points
  5. Honourable Mention1 point

For example, two Gold awards and one Silver award give a company 11 points: 4 + 4 + 3.

How positions are calculated

Points are added for each company within the selected award year. The highest total takes first place. Companies with equal totals share the same position; alphabetical order only determines their display order. The next position follows competition ranking: 1, 1, 3.

Each separately published winning entry contributes its award points once. If a project has awards in more than one nomination, those distinct entries contribute separately. Exact duplicate records with the same company, project, nomination and award level count only once.

Which companies are included?

The ranking uses the Studio field in published IADA winner records. Differences in capitalisation and extra spaces are normalised; verified spelling and punctuation variants are grouped under one company name. Joint studio credits remain together as published; points are not automatically split between collaborators.

Only records with an identifiable company, award level and edition are included. Entries without a company are not assigned to a guessed studio. Annual totals are independent: points do not carry over from previous editions. For the 2022 edition, the original labels are mapped as follows: Winner = Gold (4 points), Second Award = Silver (3 points), and Third Award = Bronze (2 points).

Explore the work behind the standings

Architecture and design companies,
ranked by IADA results.

The IADA company ranking is an annual overview of award-winning architecture firms, interior design studios and companies working across the competition’s design disciplines. It connects each studio’s position with the projects recognised in the International Architecture & Design Awards.

This is a ranking of published IADA award results, not a universal assessment of every architecture or design practice. Award levels and the number of recognised entries both contribute to the final score. Use the standings alongside project descriptions, design credits and the IADA winners gallery to explore each company’s work.
