The Flat, which is also designed as a showroom, is located in a listed residential villa from 1926 in Düsseldorf. In the course of the elaborate renovation, the remaining original components such as the mullioned windows, stucco ceilings, stairs, railings and built-in furniture were restored and integrated into a contemporary design.
„Sophisticated, historic architecture has an obligation, it deserves respect,“ Olaf Kitzig comments on the renovation philosophy, „we wanted to transform this history stylishly into the future.“ This includes the idea of turning the villa into a meeting place for exchange and discussion – as a „salon for interior trends with flexible events and offers related to design, communication and architecture.“

Rotterdamer Strasse 65 was the seat of the British Consulate General. Lady Di is also said to have been a guest here once during a visit to Germany. Since 2021, the building, consisting of brickwork with natural stone elements extending over three floors, has been restored with great care and attention to detail. Today, heritage-protected components such as the staircase with wood carvings, oak parquet flooring in a herringbone pattern, box windows and doors, the existing heating panelling in the foyer and the built-in cupboards located in the house harmonise with new design and modern technology.
In addition to office and living space, the more than 1,000 square metres are one thing above all: showroom. The (living) rooms, furnished with art and design icons from international partner brands: Cassina and Artemide are just as much at home here as numerous in-house designs. Each room is based on its own colour, material and furniture concept, which is complemented by the sequence of rooms to create a varied and at the same time interrelated overall concept.
Connecting elements and expressive highlights are the numerous works of art, whose radiance lends the rooms liveliness, individuality and a special aura. High-quality materials such as natural stone, silk and velour wallpaper, solid wood and leather upholstery form the backdrop for the art and the furnishings with Italian designer furniture. Individually designed and manufactured overlay carpets complete the overall picture.
Again and again, there are surprising, charming and unusual details, furniture and interiors to discover on the total of three floors: For example, the green natural stone bathroom with transparent glass bathtub and view of the Rhine, the wall panelling in the bedroom with wallpaper door to the dressing room, the mirrored ceiling in the guest WC or the wine cellar with original brick floor.

The rooms are rounded off with a sophisticated lighting concept that is individually tailored to each area and its function: from indirect lighting of the staircases and stucco ceilings, wall spotlights that perfectly set the scene for the art and unusual pendant and floor lamps to extravagant light sculptures, a wide variety of lighting moods are created.
