International Architecture & Design Awards (IADA) 2027
The International Architecture & Design Awards (IADA) include a dedicated Landscape discipline for gardens, parks, waterfronts, streetscapes and ecological interventions. IADA 2027 is open to landscape architects, garden designers, urban designers, studios and students, and every entry is evaluated by an independent international jury. This page brings together the 24 landscape nominations, IADA 2027 fees and deadlines, how landscape projects are judged and recent winners.
Why enter a landscape architecture award?
Landscape work is often hard to show in a portfolio: it matures over years, depends on seasons and is experienced on foot rather than from one viewpoint. An independent award gives a landscape project documented, third-party recognition that you can cite in proposals, competition applications and communication with clients and municipalities.
Each IADA winner receives a published winner page with the project description, images, design team and credits. Certificates, winner logos and graphic materials are available in the participant account, and a physical trophy can be ordered separately; it is optional. IADA is organised by Architecture & Design Community (ADC) and has run since 2019; IADA 2027 lists 19 disciplines and 640 nominations in total.
Landscape nominations at IADA 2027
The Landscape discipline includes 24 nominations, organised by setting (residential, public, hospitality, institutional, coastal) and by design challenge (planting, water, hardscape, habitat, lighting, wayfinding). Choose the nomination that describes the main contribution of your project. If a second nomination also fits, you can add it during registration or later while registration remains open; each additional nomination is paid separately.

How landscape projects are judged
Each member of the jury evaluates every project in its nomination against three criteria:
- Innovation & Originality: the strength of the landscape idea and how it responds to its site.
- Design & Aesthetic Quality: spatial composition, planting, materials and detailing.
- Functionality & Spatial Integration: how people use the space and how it connects to its ecological and urban context.
The jury scores each entry against these published criteria and the scores are averaged. The highest-ranked projects receive Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze awards, and Honourable Mentions may also be given. Meet the jury on the IADA jury page.

Preparing a strong landscape entry
A landscape jury cannot walk through your project, so the presentation has to do it for them. Start with the site: what it was before, the constraints you worked with and the goal of the intervention. Then show how the design works at different scales, from the overall plan to the planting palette and paving details.
- Include a site plan and at least one section to explain levels, water and circulation.
- Show the landscape in use and, where possible, across seasons or at different times of day.
- Explain planting, soil and water decisions, especially if sustainability is part of the concept.
- State the project status honestly (built or concept) and credit the full team, including collaborating architects and engineers.
Our guide How to enter IADA covers the materials you need and the order in which to prepare them.
