Flutes are a family of products intended to offer a fresh perspective to the current topology of office and working spaces. There are four main principles which guides the concept of Flutes; Adaptability, Modularity, Portability and Sustainability, and together with acoustics management and space carving serving as criteria of the design, the three products (Booth, Lounge, Bench) work together in unison to offer a unique collaborative and working experience.

Booth is a new adaptive take on meeting pods, a safe-hold for bustling working environments. Made to function within co-working and open collaboration spaces. Whether free-standing or propped against a wall, this piece can exist in two states to serve opposing functions as a collaboration board and private working space.

Lounge serves a modular alternative to meeting spaces, consisting of a series of frames and seating meant to be configured and reconfigure when called for. The frames serve as a guide for flexible acoustic paneling to flow through, dividing the seating and creating
pockets of private communal space for conversations from quick updates to deep-diving discussions.

Bench acts as a quiet corner for spontaneous and immediate events, whether it be an urgent email or an important phone call. Positioned for waiting rooms and lobbies, the sound insulated seating becomes a veil from the hustle and bustle of the world when the need arises.

Empathy:
Offices and co-working spaces are some of the most prominent interior landscapes in Singapore and around the world. These spaces are often have to accommodate a confusing blur of intimate working zones and collective grounds. Striking a fair balance can be difficult, with common solutions like meeting rooms and telephone booths often being space intrusive, almost alienating their isolated users. As a growing workforce, demand for quiet spaces within these landscapes have grown. With Flutes, we aim to bridge the gap between private and sociable with adaptable solutions that promote a more engaging and collaborative space.

Ethics & Sustainability:
Sustainability in Materials:
– Pepperwall’s signature proprietary panelling material is Green-Label cetrtified and SGBC (3 Ticks) made from recycled polyester. Contrasting this material in our products, a recurring steel frame element, designed to last, the panels are replaceable encouraging users to repair and replace rather than disposing the furniture.
– Offcuts and reclaimed acoustic panels are shredded and treated to become infills of the seating and cushions of this collection.

Adaptive re-use:
– Offloading the need to build permanent fit-outs, allowing easy reinstatement and reconfiguration of spaces minimizing the need of new renovation works and its associated costs and waste of materials.

Health & Well-being:
– The signature proprietary paneling material is treated with ‘HEART ACOUSTIC CLEAN (Anti microbial treatment), A Nano Technology patented by Pepperwall.
