The City of San Bernardino has become one of California’s hot-spots in regards to homelessness and crime. The once thriving city has now become a common area of stress and danger. With conditions continuing to worsen, a more practical approach has been designed, focused on healing the city’s key issues, while setting a design standard for cities with similar concerns. The historical and now nearly abandoned Perris Hill Park is now occupied by homeless camps. “Humane Practicality” redesigns the park to maximize the use of this historically important San Bernardino park.
This project aims to provide the resources needed to aid the current homeless crisis, while providing a public safety outlet for the surrounding and nearby communities.
