Tanzo Space Design has completed a house in Beijing, China, and included in the design, is a sunken conversation pit.
Hidden away from public view, but still visible from many areas of the home, the sunken conversation pit was created as a place for the family to gather and entertain.
Surrounded by a shallow water feature, the conversation pit, which is built out of concrete, is accessed via stairs that lead down to the built-in seating.
At night, hidden lighting showcases the design. There’s also a fire table that can be lit and cozy cushions to create a campfire-like atmosphere.
